Bill grew up in Sault St. Marie, MI attended Lake Superior State University and earned a B.A. in History from Western Michigan University. He also earned a diploma from the Retail School of Bank Management at the University of Virginia. His first position was in banking where he spent 26 years at First of America Bank / National City Bank as a branch and regional manager. From 2001 to 2007 Bill served as President of the Direct Investment Fund for economic development organization Battle Creek Unlimited. While at BCU, He earned certification as an Economic Financial from the National Development Council.
In 2008, Bill entered the reverse mortgage industry as a Reverse Mortgage Consultant working for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage and then MetLife Home Loans. When MetLife left the reverse mortgage business in 2012, Bill joined Success Mortgage Partners Reverse Mortgage, and based in Kalamazoo, he works with banks, credit unions, financial planners, and other financial professionals mainly in southwest Michigan. He has been married to his wife, Vicki, for 40 years, and they have grown twin sons.
